Terry Yarbrough, son-in-law of CRC founders Allan & Eunice Hansen, dedicated most of his life to serving the vision of CRC, working tirelessly to further the ministry they founded in 1970.  Nearly all of the buildings at CRC were built with his help and expertise. Terry spent over 30 years serving at CRC with the support of his wife Ellen in various capacities: as the first on-site Director before the Hansen’s moved to Oregon from California, and later as CRC’s Executive Director from 1992-2004.

Terry’s leadership style was “hands on.” He was always right in the middle of the current construction project, whether it was working on a roof, or digging ditches waist deep in mud.  

He was passionate about living a life that demonstrated his faith in Jesus Christ, born out of his love for the Lord and for authentic Christian community, honoring God in all that we do. His commitment to maintain relationships with the world that are above reproach has been a blessing to CRC.

Happy Easter brother and sisters!

Last weekend I went on a retreat with young adults from my church up to Camp Jonah in Washington. The time away allowed me to be reminded of the importance of several things we can neglect in our busy lives. The first is taking time to rest and be alone with God. Even Jesus took time to pray in solitude to the Father (Luke 5:17). Secondly confession amongst believers is healing (James 5:16). The last take away is like the second, we should seek fellowship. For in fellowship is encouragement (Hebrews 10:24-25). May the Lord bless you all, and may we not lean on own understanding but acknowledge Him, in all things.

Memorial Day Weekend

Pastor Carl Palinkas is the Senior Pastor at Church on the Rock of Calvary Chapel in Florence, OR and is the Founder and President of Zechariah’s Hope, founded in 2006 in response to rocket attacks in Northern Israel. He got saved in 1979, served as a missionary in Mexico and Honduras and led short term outreaches in Russia and India. A gifted teacher of God’s word who loves and passionately supports Israel. He will share on accepting others and yourself through deep insights into the history and people of Israel.

Summer Family Camp

Pastor Jim Holm and his wife, Dalene, have been in pastoral ministry for almost 30 years, including denominational leadership positions. After serving in the U.S. Army, Jim worked in the corporate world before stepping into his first ministry role. He recently served as Lead Pastor of Crossing Church in Redmond, Oregon. Jim is now Director of Church Partnerships with Compassion First, a non-profit providing care for survivors of sex trafficking in Indonesia.
Jim and Dalene grew up nearby in Stayton, Oregon. He is a friend of Christian Renewal Center, having been a past teacher and board member.

Wes Daughenbaugh’s messages are rich in the Word with profound truths made simple to understand with memorable illustrations and helpful applications to daily life. An emphasis of his ministry is to teach people how to overcome bitterness, self-pity, anger, pride and other hindrances to prayer. Though helping people find Christ and become “just like Jesus”.
Wes has been married to his wife Bonnie for 45 years. Together they had 2 lovely daughters, and 4 grandchildren.

New Cable Swing!

After being decommissioned for several months, our new and improved cable swing is now operational! While there has been changes to the design, it now offers a higher and more thrilling experience. This was only made possible by the gracious, generous, and helpful folks at Synergo who constructed it. We look forward to providing a renewed activity for our guests!

Basketball Court Decommissioned

Our basketball court which has served us well, has become worn beyond repair. It has been removed and now we are considering options to replace the activity. Prayers and suggestions are most welcome!

In the next two weeks on Tuesdays thru Fridays (April 15-18 & 22-25) there are opportunities for extra willing hearts and hands to come volunteer with various outdoor and indoor projects. If theses dates don’t work for you but you’d still like to help, please contact us and we’ll arrange an opportunity for you to serve.
