Labor Day Weekend

Peter Iliyn was born in Paraguay, South America, to parents who came from Ukraine. Raised to speak the Russian language, Peter has been able to cross barriers throughout the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe with his ministry. Trained as an electrical engineer, Peter joined Youth With A Mission in 1976. He has traveled and ministered in over 90 countries, including China, Mongolia, Argentina, Mexico, Australia, Western Europe and Eastern Europe.

Peter is the author of “Out Of The Far Corners”, a book chronicling his father’s escape from Communist Ukraine. Luba Iliyn was born in China of Russian parents. When she was two years old her family moved to Australia, where she lived for eleven years. From there, the family moved to Canada. Luba grew up speaking the Russian language. She worked as a Dental Assistant for 3 years in Canada and in 1978 left to do a Discipleship Training School in Salem Oregon. Several years later she married Peter Iliyn.

Luba and Peter have a burden for the Slavic people and have travelled throughout the former Soviet Union, since 1980, training young Christians for missions. Luba teaches in various Christian venues and carries a passion to see youth released into their destiny. They also have a passion for training leaders and are co-directors of the North American Leadership Development Course. Peter & Luba served 21 years as the North American Directors for Youth With A Mission. Luba and Peter live in Turner, Oregon and have four married children and seven grandchildren.
