Tim and Julie HansenPastor Allan and Eunice Hansen - Founders of CRCAbout Us

Christian Renewal Center (CRC) is a place set apart for the renewing of God's people that their lives might bring greater glory and honor to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. CRC was founded in 1970 by the late Reverend Allan and Eunice Hansen and is now being carried on by Tim and Julie Hansen. Christian Renewal Center has been the fulfillment of a life long dream of providing a place of spiritual refreshment for people thirsty for more of God. Through the generosity of many dear friends and the labor of countless volunteers it has grown from 10 acres of raw forest land to its present 40 acre campus. CRC is a warm, cozy conference center located on beautiful forest land next to Silver Falls State Park, 15 miles SE of Silverton and 30 miles SE of Salem, Oregon. We are dedicated to the glory of God, and serving the Body of Christ through guest group facilities and retreat programs. The Staff team is committed to serve you in every way possible and it is our goal to have your stay here be an enjoyable and edifying experience.

Christian Renewal Center is a story that amazes us because we started with the dream of one lodge somewhere in the mountains of California. How that dream was transferred to Oregon and has grown to include forty acres and fourteen buildings causes us to stand in awe of God's wondrous works and ways.

The stones that shaped the Hansen's lives and ministry had been laid by the many wonderful retreats and countless great teachers they sat under as well as by numerous inspired writers. We will mention some of them whom we have had the privilege of meeting and entertaining in the Hansen home. People like Dr. J. Edwin Orr, the well-known authority on revival, Corrie ten Boom, the heroine of World War II prison camps and Gladys Aylward, whose story was featured in the film, Inn of the Sixth Happiness. Our story seems small and insignificant, in comparison, here it is with the hope and prayer that others who feel insignificant might be encouraged. If God could bless our feeble efforts and forgive our failures, He can do the same for you and bless the dreams He has given you.

Tim and Julie Hansen are now living on the dream of loving God and serving His people through CRC's ministry of hospitality. They live on the CRC grounds and have five children: David, Grace, Josiah, Peter, and Jonny.

"I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will tell of all thy wonderful deeds.
I will be glad and exult in Thee,
I will sing praises to thy name, O Most High!"
Psalm 9:1-2

My Favorite Things: A CRC Song
Talking with God in the freshness of dawn,
Learning about Him and praising in song,
Prayer in the chapel with the valley below;
It's one of the loveliest places I know.

Silver Falls picnics -just look at that view!
Strolling and talking with friends that are new;
Children at play on the playground and swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Time to be quiet down by the stream;
Listen to God's voice or maybe just dream;
Praying with others and learning to share
Some precious moments with people who care.
When I go back
To the fast track,
And I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Tim and Julie HansenGreetings from Christian Renewal Center!

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.”
-Zephaniah 3:17 (NASB)

We are Tim and Julie Hansen and it is our pleasure, along with our staff, to serve you through our ministry of hospitality and through the fellowship we have around the Word of God. Our desire is that you would be touched by the Lord, by His Spirit, in our correspondence together whether you are coming here with a Christian Organization, CRC Sponsored Retreat, or on a Personal Retreat.

In our often busy and hectic lives, it is good sometimes to pull away from the “crowd,” as Jesus did, to spend time with His Father. We trust that as you come to worship the Lord, seek His will for your life, and renew your mind through the reading of His Word that you will leave here refreshed and rested in your spirit. “How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, who seek Him with all their heart.” -Psalm 119:2 (NASB)

While you are here we also hope that you have fun hiking the Silver Falls, riding our zip line, and joining us at the Lamppost for a good book, espresso, or special treat. “O taste and see that the Lord is good; how blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!” -Psalm 34:8 (NASB)

In closing, we long for you to be encouraged and equipped in your faith while here, so that when you return home you will love God more deeply, minister more effectively to the Body of Christ, and  be able to witness to those who do not know Jesus’ saving grace with new boldness.

Be Blessed!

-Tim and Julie Hansen

Apostle's Creeds

Apostles' and the Nicene Creeds

THE APOSTLES' CREED: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilot, Was crucified, dead, and buried: He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, And sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From there he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; The Holy Christian Church, The Communion of Saints; The forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the body, And the Life everlasting. Amen.

THE NICENE CREED: I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, Begotten of his Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of very God, Begotten, not made, Being of one substance with the Father, By whom all things were made: Who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, And was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary, And was made man; And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried; And the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, And ascended into heaven, And sits on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead: Whose kingdom shall have no end. And I believe in the Holy Ghost, The Lord and Giver of Life, Who proceeds from the Father and the Son, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke by the Prophets. And I believe one Holy Christian and Apostolic Church. I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins. And I look for the Resurrection of the dead, And the Life of the world to come. Amen.
